01. What is your pen name?
orangisque, or just orange. I prefer orange, but since it's so common I use orangisque.
02. What made you choose this name?
I wanted to change from my old handle name, orangewishes, so I made a post about it on my LJ and a friend of mine suggested orangisque and I really like that so I picked it.
03. Do you use PC or Mac?
Both, I use my Mac mostly now but I still use my PC if I need to do anything really heavy or Windows-only.
04. What programs do you use most often?
For art I use Photoshop for touching up, I rarely do completed digital art. If I do feel like doing bigger pieces I would most likely go to SAI because I really dislike Photoshop's brushes. Most of the time for doodling and stuff I use Tegaki.
05. Do you use mouse, or tablet?
Tablet.
06. What color or color combinations do you ... (Note: this question was cut off, so I'll assume it was asking what I like)
I really like all colours, there's always a place for a colour. Absolute favourite single colour is of course orange. Colour combination I like orange/cyan/magenta.
07. What part of a picture do you put most effort into?
The face and more specifically the eyes. Lately I've been trying to get myself away from putting too much focus on that because I usually take too much time on that part and then by the time I get to other places I get disappointed and stop.
08. How long does it take you do draw a picture?
Nothing too long, I hate too long.
09. Do you keep your rough drafts?
On paper, yes. On computer, I am one of those people who don't save so I rarely have process of my digital pictures.
10. What font do you use most often?
Probably Helvetica Neue. Though school makes me use a variety of typefaces so it's hard to really say which one I use most often.
11. When you scan your image, what DPI do you use?
300 if I really like the picture, 150 if I'm just scanning it for the web.
12. Do you do anything else when you're drawing?
Surprisingly I can get really absorbed into drawing something. One of the rare times where I am not attention jumping.
13. Approximately how many pictures do you draw in a month?
0 if you are talking about full pictures, a lot if you just mean random sketches.
14. What kind of paper do you draw your pictures on?
Whatever I can get a hold on at the moment. I own so many sketchbooks though so it's most likely some sort of sketchbook paper, but I am starting to go and use scrap paper that I have since I have so much paper in my room.
15. What kind of paper do you use for rough sketches and drafts?
Anything I can find in my room.
16. How long does it take you to ink something?
0 minutes, because I don't ink anything.
17. Do you do comics, or fan comics?
I want to and I'm starting to get myself to do more comic like things.
18. Do you like comics? Are they fun to make?
I really do like comics since it's a really special method of story telling that people dismiss so often but it has a lot of potential.
19. Have you ever submitted anything to a magazine?
Probably not, but I could have done so when I was little.
21. Who are your favorite artists?
I usually have favourite pieces of art rather than artists. Though I have always looked up to Kojima Ayami for her work in Castlevania. I also love the work of fashion illustrator David Downton, his brush work is amazing. Haccan I believe to be the most amazing colour user ever. I find I like a lot of just small artists than known artists really, fansites usually impress me more.
22. Do you like anime/manga? If so, what are your favorite series?
I used to be, but I've pretty much stopped reading and watching manga and anime for almost 2 years now. The last series I was into is Gintama, which I still hold high regards to.
23. Do you like cartoons/comics? If so, what are your favorite series?
I like small witty and funny cartoons, though I don't usually read them anymore.
24. Any artists that you wish you could draw like?
There will always be artists that I wish I could draw like. I have a really bad complex with my own art.
25. Do you read a lot of books?
I was never a big reader when I was little, but I love reading now. I usually read nonfiction though, never really into fiction.
26. Did you ever buy a book to inspire or teach you to draw?
Of course, I have tons of books that encourage me to keep going at my craft.
27. Any video games you enjoy?
WHAT WOULD MY LIFE BE WITHOUT VIDEO GAMES.
Tales series: This is the one thing that I have kept with me since my childhood and it seriously holds a special spot in my life. I have played all the main games other than the new generation ones that I don't own the consoles to. I love Tales for its special charms, like it will never be too serious and it never will take itself too seriously.
I also enjoy visual novels, sometimes genuinely, sometimes for the entertainment value of an "omg bad" plotline. I also really like "little" games like Cooking Mama and rhythm games.
28. Any favorite characters from video games?
Right now it has to be Yuri and Estelle from Vesperia. Cless, Stan and Rid will always hold a special place in my heart. My last big thing was Uru from Avalon Code.
29. Do you have a favorite writer?
I rarely read fiction so I really can't point out a favourite writer.
30. Any books you really enjoy?
I really like random trivia books like the Imponderables series. Those are always so fun to read. Freakonomics was an entertaining read.
Bird by Bird is a really inspirational book for writers, but I think all types of artists out there can get something out of it as well.
31. Do you draw fanart?
I do quite a few now, I used to not be able to draw fanart. (not be able as in I really can't see the character in what I drew)
32. Do you listen to music while you draw?
I always have music on whatever I am doing.
33. Any recommended songs?
Shikata Akiko is a goddess in singing, her Ar Tonelico songs are highly recommended. Tales openings are all really great songs as well.

Tegaki definitely and pixiv is my Japanese art fix.

Depends if you lump designer as an artist too, if so then yes: that's what I am studying now. I have wanted to be in the art field but I know I lack the skills probably. I know I don't want to be a comics artist though, lol. I guess I can really only take drawing as a hobby and borderline job, but as a full blown career...it really depends.

Used to, but use Tegaki more often now because it loads so much faster and less of a hassle to use.

I took what I could in high school and then took a year of art fundamentals in college. I did okay I guess. If you count Design as art then yes I am still taking art.

No, I learn on my own.

Yeah and it looks like crap.

Get through school, get a job, and live happily. Immediate goal would be produce something that I can actually print.
